Locally Owned Bonney Plumbing, Heating & Air Hires New CEO Offers Accounting, Finance and Growth-Risk Management Expertise

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. (June 8, 2015) – Locally-owned, Sacramento area based Bonney Plumbing, Heating, Air and Rooter Service, today announced the hiring of a new chief executive officer. A long-time Sacramento resident, Laurie Johnson is a seasoned professional with more than 25 years of experience in management, operations, and fiduciary oversight. In her role as CEO, Johnson will oversee all company operations, as well as long-term strategic and structural planning, continuous policy and procedure improvement and all financial operations.

Before joining Bonney, Johnson served as general manager for Abacus Plumbing, Air Conditioning & Electrical, a Houston-based leading residential service provider. During her time with the company, the business doubled in size and she oversaw upgrades to automated services, restructured and rebuilt the management team, and pioneered the company’s electrical division in 2014.

Johnson’s prior work experience also includes 25 years at Sacramento-based Matheson Trucking, a national transportation carrier that serves the United States Postal Service. While there, Johnson served as the CFO/COO and became an expert in the operations and nuances of working for family-owned businesses, and honed her skills for quality management and customer service satisfaction.

“Laurie’s extensive management background, along with her wealth of experience in working with several successful family-owned businesses in several states, makes her an invaluable addition to the Bonney team.” said Collin Hathaway, chairman of the board. “Her expertise, combined with her natural energy and dedication to enhanced customer service experience creates the perspective we need to ensure Bonney’s continued success.”

Johnson has a strong background in accounting, finance, economics and growth-risk management. She is already working toward her short-term goal for enhancing Bonney’s organizational operating efficiencies by analyzing and updating the company’s processes and procedures. She has also begun reviewing and improving marketing strategies, revamping customer care programs and analyzing compensation structures. As part of her long-term strategy, Johnson plans to develop a broader training program for employees and build a cohesive management team to encourage and foster a strong company culture.
