How do you bring in fresh air without losing the energy required to condition the air in your home? Bonney’s highly trained technicians are ready to recommend recovery ventilators allowing you to bring in this fresh air without the cold or hot temperatures that may exist outside.
Heat Recovery Ventilators (HRV) work by crossing incoming fresh air and outgoing exhaust air. This air transfer allows the outgoing air to warm up or cool off the outside air as it enters the home. The unit has its own fan and filter so that it can operate independently or in conjunction with the whole house heating and air system.
Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERV) work the same as the HRVs noted above, but they also take into account the latent heat present in the humidity. In other words, they measure the comfort level, not just the temperature of the outdoor air before bringing it into the home.
A variety of controls are available to operate an HRV or ERV. They can be controlled independently as you wish without the integration of the heating and air system. Or, they can work seamlessly with your heating and air system. Intelligent controls monitor the outdoor and indoor temperature and humidity and balance that information with the desired temperature in the home in order to determine if the recovery ventilator should operate. It efficiently provides fresh, clean outdoor air mixed into your central system when it is needed, automatically.
