The Bonney Team is ready to Walk a Mile in Her Shoes with WEAVE

This coming Sunday, May 3rd, the Bonney Team will be walking with hundreds of other men to support WEAVE and their Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event.

We are thrilled to be participating in the upcoming Walk a Mile in Her Shoes because this will mark our first year walking! WEAVE is an important organization that is helping to shed light and raise money for a wonderful cause in our local community. Walk A Mile in Her Shoes is not just an event happening in Sacramento, but an international occasion, where men can embrace the opportunity to raise awareness about the serious causes and effects of sexualized violence. This will be WEAVE’s fifth year hosting this walk and they have set out to break the world record in the process. Having over 1,000 men in heels walking around the Capitol building will surely turn heads and make a statement in our community at the same time.

At Bonney, we strongly believe in empowering women in our local community, so becoming a partner with WEAVE made sense. Being in a male dominate industry, we are proud to say that our management team is more than 50% female, as well as a large portion of our staff. We have also been a strong supporter of the Assistance League of Sacramento, which has a program that donates business clothing to help homeless women get jobs. Having the men on our team stand up and participate in this walk demonstrates the true culture we have here at Bonney. If you would like to help us make a difference in the community we live in, please donate or join our team at www.bonney.com/weave.

Families and friends of the men walking are welcome to join and cheer them on! The festival begins at 10am and the walk begins at 11:15am. There will be live music and several food trucks available for refreshments. There will also be several booths at the event, including the Bonney Booth! Stop by and say hi, you never know what we will giving away. We can’t wait to see all the walkers and supporters out on May 3rd, hope to see you as well!
